Arlington Dog Grooming at Our Full-Service Animal Hospital

arlington dog groomer
Gully Animal Hospital is a full-service veterinary hospital and emergency animal clinic in Arlington. In addition to our range of medical services, we also offer dog grooming. Dog grooming is an essential service for your pet, especially those with long hair or a penchant for frequently rolling in the dust and mud. Our two groomers can handle any amount of hair, dust and mud as they have a combined experience of nearly 25 years in the business. They also have clients as far-reaching as Canada who specifically seek out their services, so space is limited and appointments do fill up quickly.

Arlington Dog Grooming: Say Goodbye to Matted Fur and Tangles

Cynthia Dog GroomerDog grooming is more than running a brush through a dog’s fur, although that is certainly part of it. Dogs need brushing, bathing and nail care on a regular basis and both of our groomers are experienced in all aspects of the grooming process. Professional dog grooming at our animal hospital includes a variety of specialized services that are designed to keep your pet happy and healthy. We understand that larger dogs can be difficult to bathe regularly. Our facility is equipped to handle all size dogs and our groomers go above and beyond to provide gentle care for all pets.

How Often Should I Groom My Dog?

How frequently your pet needs our dog grooming service depends on the length of his fur, his activity level and the cleanliness of his usual environment. While a professional dog grooming session is not necessary every day, sometimes a brushing at home can be. Longer-haired breeds definitely need brushing at least once a week, if not daily, to prevent snarling and matting while shorter-haired breeds can go for longer lengths between brushing.

When the weather is warm, we recommend that dogs get one of our professional haircuts Dog groomingor fur clippings that leave a dog lighter and cooler. We can also provide specialized shampoo baths to address concerns like fleas or allergies. We encourage pet owners to discuss any issues that their pet is experiencing with our groomers so they can customize the dog grooming process.

Nail clipping is essential to keep the length of a dog’s nails in check. If nails grow too long they can make it difficult for the dog to walk or lead to more severe issues. Many pet owners are hesitant to clip their pet’s nails because they do not want to make them bleed by trimming to high on the nail. Our facility offers nail trimming from one our experienced groomers to avoid any pet discomfort or pain.

Grooming keeps your dog neat, trim and clean but it also provides an instant way to spot check a dog for health issues, especially conditions that affect the fur, teeth, nails, ears and skin. Groomers and pet owners who perform their own dog grooming procedures sometimes find infections, lumps or other issues they may have missed without such hands-on contact with the dog.
